Privacy notice

Bringing Families Together is a small family support service based in Inverness, run by Aimee. This notice explains, in plain terms, what happens to information you share.

What is collected

If you telephone, send a WhatsApp message or email, the service holds what you choose to share: your name, your contact details, and the details of your situation needed to decide whether the service can help. There is no online form on this website, and no account to create.

Where work goes ahead, records of sessions are kept as agreed with you and with any referrer before the first session.

Why it is held, and the lawful basis

Enquiry information is held to answer you and to plan the work, on the basis of legitimate interests, and where a service is agreed, to perform that agreement. Session records relating to children are held because they are necessary for the safeguarding of children and, where relevant, for legal claims.

Who sees it

Only Aimee, unless you have agreed otherwise, or a report has been agreed for a referrer or a court, or there is a safeguarding concern that must be passed to social work or the police.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twelve months. Where a service is provided, records are kept for as long as they may be needed in connection with the child's arrangements or any related proceedings, and are then securely destroyed. If you want to know how long your own information will be held, please ask.

Your rights

You can ask what is held about you, ask for mistakes to be corrected, and in some cases ask for information to be deleted. Some records may need to be kept where safeguarding or legal duties apply.
